CitedSpy track your AI visibility
Summary
CitedSpy is a commercial monitoring product for how assistants talk about a brand. A user registers their brand and a list of prompts their buyers are likely to type, and the platform replays those prompts against assistants including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude on a repeating schedule, recording whether the brand was named, cited, or recommended, and which competitor showed up instead.
The reporting goes past a mention count. It covers the sentiment attached to the brand name, the context around any recommendation, share of voice against competitors, and the specific source pages the assistant drew from. The company's public changelog and documentation show an active release cadence, including a free checker that tests whether a given URL turns up in AI engine responses, per market tracking, and brand pause controls.

Why it matters
Brand discovery inside an assistant leaves no rankings page to open, so a company can be left out of the shortlist an assistant produces without ever seeing the loss show up in analytics. A tool that replays buyer style prompts on a schedule and logs the cited source pages turns that invisible layer into something a marketing team can inspect: you learn which of your pages an assistant actually reads, which competitor it names in your place, and whether a content change moves the answer. That is the difference between guessing at AI visibility and having a record you can act on.

AIOTruth judgment
The item carries a Supported evidence status because the product pages, documentation, and a dated changelog were fetched and all describe the same working system, which is why evidence scored 8. Relevance scored 9: measuring brand presence in assistant answers sits at the center of what AI era discovery now decides. Usefulness landed at 6 and originality at 7 because the pitch is a vendor pitch, several tools now occupy this category, and the capability claims about sentiment, share of voice, and citation sourcing rest on the company's own account. Every confirmed source traces back to a single domain, and the demonstration was not independently reproduced by AIOTruth, which keeps the composite at 7.6 rather than higher.
How this score was calculated
| Dimension | Weight | Score | What produced it |
|---|---|---|---|
| AIO relevance | 30% | 9 | ai visibility, generative engine optimization, geo, share of voice; 4 scope question(s) matched |
| Usefulness | 30% | 6 | 1 artifact(s), 5 actionable marker(s), 0 measured figure(s) |
| Evidence | 25% | 8 | Reproducible first-party demonstration; 3 verified source(s) across 1 domain(s) |
| Originality | 15% | 7 | no original testing found; closest archive match 0.143 |
aioRelevance x 0.30 + usefulness x 0.30 + evidence x 0.25 + originality x 0.15. The rubric is published in full on the Editorial Method page. Scoring is deterministic: the same item scores the same on every run.
